Chapter 11 Reorganizations

WJ&S has represented literally every conceivable party to a Chapter 11 Reorganization case. WJ&S has been involved in Chapter 11 cases throughout the country. Among the clients represented by WJ&S in Chapter 11 cases are the following:

Commercial Litigation

WJ&S maintains a highly diverse commercial litigation practice in the Bankruptcy Courts, State Courts and Federal Courts. Litigated issues have involved contracts, fraudulent conveyances, preferences, foreclosures and appeals.

Corporate Transactions

Stuart M. Brown, Esq. and Norman D. Kallen, both of counsel to the film, have handled a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters. Those matters include formation and organization of businesses, financing (private equity and bank financing), mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and member relations, commercial agreements, licensing and corporate restructuring.

Creditors' Rights

WJ&S has represented many creditors and creditor groups, both in and out of bankruptcy. These services have included filing of receiverships, filing of involtultary bankruptcy petitions, enforcing liens, negotiating with debtors and other related matters.

Personal Bankruptcy Representation

During its 35 years of existence, WJ&S has represented literally thousands of individuals in personal bankruptcy cases. These representations include both Chapter 7 liquidation cases and Chapter 13 wage earner plans. WJ&S has also represented creditors and Bankruptcy Trustees in personal bankruptcy cases.

State Court Insolvency

WJ&S has been involved in countless State Court insolvency cases. Steven Z. Jurista of the firm has handled more Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors, a State Court liquidation proceeding, than any other attorney in the State of New Jersey over the last 30 years. Members of the firm have served as both State Court Receivers and Special Fiscal Agents in countless proceedings before State Courts.
