Robert B. Wasserman received a B.A. from Rutgers University in 1964 and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 1967. Over the course of his career, he has specialized in all facets of bankruptcy and related areas of the law. He was a founding member of the Firm which was incorporated in 1971. He has served as President and Managing Director since 1992. Mr. Wasserman has developed a reputation as being an innovator in the field of bankruptcy law as evidenced by the fact that he filed and successfully confirmed the first pre-packaged Chapter 11 case in New Jersey shortly after the enactment of the Bankruptcy Code of 1978. He was also the first person to serve as a Trustee under the pilot program that created the Office of the United States Trustee.

Mr. Wasserman has represented Debtors, Creditor Committees and Trustees in numerous Chapter 11 cases of all sizes. He has orchestrated many out-of-court reorganizations as well as liquidation proeedings under the New Jersey Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors and Receivership Statutes. Since 1995, he has served as a Panel Trustee for the Office of the United States Trustee and has successfully administered substantial Chapter 11 reorganizations and Chapter 7 liquidations.

The Best Lawyers in AmericaMr. Wasserman is a former Chairperson and present Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association Bankruptcy Section and has been honored by his peers by being selected since 1993 for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. In 1997 he was honored by the Bankruptcy Law Section of the NJSBA for his contribution to the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Program. Mr. Wasserman has been recognized by New Jersey Monthly Magazine as one of the premier attorneys in the State.

Mr. Wasserman has served as an instructor for the New Jersey Skills and Methods course required for newly admitted attorneys and has lectured on behalf of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education on such topics as "Anatomy of a Chapter 11." He has been a frequent lecturer and panel participant before Bar and professional groups and served as one of the original Masters of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Inn of Court.
